Hello Bob,

Those are indeed commands to be run in the command line. You can access that
via Winbox by clicking on the "New Terminal" button on the left side menu.

As for a passcode, for now, one isn't necessary. If you complete the steps
on the wiki, and are able to receive a signal from a cell site, that should
be all you need.

I also recommend hopping into the IRC channel (You can join via the web
interface here: http://webchat.freenode.net/?nick=HamWAN..
<http://webchat.freenode.net/?nick=HamWAN..&channels=#HamWAN>
&channels=%23HamWAN) and normally a number of us are around and available to
assist you in realtime.

I am Bob KE7JL and I am also a new guy on the block, having seen the light
in Auburn on Saturday. I purchased a demo 5SHPN and antenna that Bart had
with him.

Network land is at the very edge of my experience/knowledge so I will need
help. I learn best by trial and error and over the last few days I’ve done
a lot of trials and made a lot of errors, however I have progressed to a
point where I have to ask for help.

Current status:

· I have the 5SHPN and antenna on a tripod

· I have the 5SHPN connected to my computer and power

· I have Winbox on the computer

· I am able to connect to the modem using Winbox

· The software was v5.23

· Following Network Engineering -> Client Node Configuration
document:

o I downloaded RouterOS v6.7 from the internet and uploaded it to the
modem

o The reboot was successful

o Per Step 2, I was able to give the modem an identity

o Per Step 3, I was able to assign an admin password

o Per Step 4, I was able to add the shared administrators.

o Per Step 5.1 &2, I was able to get the keys to the Files folder in the
modem

o Steps 5.3 to 23 is where I hit the wall and need help. These steps
appear to define the task [in the small box] followed [in the box below]
with what appears to be lines of code or command line instructions. I do
not know how to complete the tasks.

§ Examples:

5.3 [Import SSH keys and associate them with the right accounts]. How or
where do I to that.

8. [Remote Logging]. Something. I have drilled down to some related windows
in Winbox but they do not have a place to add code.

Anyhow that is where I am now and would appreciate any help I can get.

Also, where to I get a Passcode to register with HamWAM?

Thank you,

Bob KE7JL in Kirkland
