This site is very important <br>to the network since it routes up to 140Mbit of internet to the rest of <br>the network. Some of you may recall we also replaced the UPS there this <br>summer to help us deal with the bad power. However it looks like the <br>built-in batteries aren't large enough to sustain us through the longer <br>outages. I'd like to expand the site's runtime by a factor of 17 by <br>adding an external battery bank. I'd also like to use AGM batteries so <br>that they last longer and don't require any maintenance. The cost of <br>this will be $500 for the batteries, and then some small amount for <br>wires + connectors (< $100), which can be purchased under the <br>discretionary spending bylaw.<br><br>So, this spending request is for the $500 battery cost only.<br><br>I'd like to have this funded from project-specific donations and not <br>drain our existing funds.
