I don't know the in-depth details of the PSDR, but if you're looking at changing that 900Mhz, you may want to look at old (4mbit, 8Mhz channel) Motorola Canopy 900Mhz FSK/PMP100 gear off eBay, as it has a well-designed TDMA protocol and doesn't have the frequency-conversion problems (incl out-of-band interference) sometimes seen with wifi-chipset based Ubnt/MT gear. The Canopy system doesn't use SSID and therefore doesn't broadcast site name, not fully compatible with ham requirements so you could consider it as being run in ISM category. In the Canopy system, the AP and CPE (SM) are different models and only connect to the opposite type. If anyone is interested I can answer questions on network design.

On Wed, May 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM <psdr-request@hamwan.org> wrote:

Send PSDR mailing list submissions to
It's been a couple years since I asked about 900 MHz. Has there been
any change in the status at Gold Mtn?
Gold's 900 is up and running - in fact we were just debating it a bit on the list a week or so ago, discussing whether anyone was actively using it and/or interested in experimenting with it, or whether to scrap it and take it offline. Mikrotik no longer makes a radio to use 900, so if we want to work with it we'll have to look at alternatives. There's a MT baseboard with a ubiquity daughterboard that Spokane folks are using we can look at.

What is your interest in 900 and where would you like to see it go? I think the project has some value for some of the non-LOS sites at a lower data rate, but do we have enough people interested to make it worth the effort is the question?

Cheers,
Rob
